Open Positions
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-obsessed, responsive Commercial Order Entry & Estimating Specialist to manage incoming customer orders, rapidly turn quotes, and shop ticket preparation for our commercial door, frame, and hardware divisions (Div 07, 08, 10, and 28).
Unlike our outside sales role, this position does not require cold calling or outbound prospecting. Instead, your #1 priority is speed, customer service, and 100% technical accuracy—ensuring that every incoming repeat order, walk-in/call-in request, and shop ticket is processed cleanly so that zero ordering or fabrication errors reach our shop floor or job sites.
Key Responsibilities
Inbound Order Processing & Quotes: Promptly answer incoming customer calls, emails, and portal requests from established contractors and facility clients, converting quote requests into clean, accurate orders.
Shop Ticket & Submittal Accuracy: Translate customer purchase orders, hardware schedules, and field measurements into rock-solid shop tickets and vendor purchase orders (hollow metal/wood doors, frames, prepping, handing, finishes, and electrified hardware specs).
First-Line Quality Control (QC): Act as the primary gatekeeper before orders reach the shop floor or outside vendors. Double-check handing, hinge/strike locations, fire ratings, wall thicknesses, and hardware templates to eliminate costly rework.
Order Lifecycle & Logistics Support: Track vendor lead times, coordinate with the shop/warehouse on fabrication schedules, manage will-call and delivery coordination, and keep customers updated on order status.
Sales Team Support: Assist outside Commercial Sales Representatives by entering approved estimates, generating submittals, and processing change orders.
Performance Metrics (How You Are Measured)
Shop & Vendor Error Rate (Primary KPI): Maintain an order accuracy rate of 98%+. Orders sent to the shop or vendors with unflagged prepping, handing, dimension, or part-number errors directly impact monthly quality bonus eligibility.
Throughput Volume: Consistently process a high-volume baseline of assigned monthly inbound quotes and orders to maintain role standards and bonus eligibility.
Required Qualifications
Technical Industry Knowledge: 2+ years of experience in commercial doors, frames, and hardware (Div 08), building specialties (Div 10), or access control hardware (Div 28) order entry, detailing, or inside counter sales.
Technical Precision: Deep familiarity with door handing, hollow metal/wood door and frame elevations, standard hardware preps (ASA, mortise, cylindrical, exit devices), and commercial vendor catalogs.
Blueprint & Schedule Literacy: Ability to read door schedules, hardware sets, and shop drawings to verify order accuracy.
Systems Savvy: Fast, accurate data entry in ERP/estimating/shop-ticket software (e.g., Comsense, Avaware, ProTech, Cin7, or internal ERP/CRM systems).
Compensation & Benefits
Stable Base Pay: Competitive base salary/hourly rate with predictable income..
Professional Development: Company-sponsored DHI training and technical product certifications.

Role Overview
We are seeking a DHI-certified AHC (or an advanced candidate nearing certification) to lead our project lifecycle from initial bid to final closeout. You are not just a salesperson; you are a Technical Consultant who owns the accuracy of the bid and the functionality of the opening.
You will be responsible for performing high-precision takeoffs, authoring hardware schedules, and managing the bidding process for complex commercial and institutional projects. You will act as the primary point of contact for General Contractors and our internal Installer Division.
Key Responsibilities

Competitive Proposing: Develop and deliver comprehensive bid packages that include doors, frames, hardware, and Division 10 specialties (Partitions, Bath, Corner Guards).
Value Engineering (VE): Analyze specs to provide "smart alternates" that reduce lead times or costs for the GC while protecting our margins.
Special Pricing Coordination: Negotiate with manufacturers (Allegion, ASSA ABLOY, etc.) to secure project-specific pricing (SPA) for competitive bidding.
2. Specification & Code Compliance
Schedule Authoring: Create and edit detailed hardware sets and schedules using industry software (AvaWare, ProLink, or similar).
Regulatory Oversight: Ensure every opening is 100% compliant with California Title 24, ADA, NFPA 80 (Fire), and NFPA 101 (Life Safety).
